These Terms and Conditions explain the basis on which Spark Security Solutions Limited provides quotations, electrical, security and associated technical services to our customers.

1. About These Terms
These Terms and Conditions apply to services supplied or arranged by Spark Security Solutions Limited (“Spark Security Solutions”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
They should be read together with any quotation, estimate, scope of works, written agreement or other project-specific information supplied to you.
Where a written quotation or project agreement contains specific terms that differ from these general Terms and Conditions, the specific written terms relating to that project will take priority to the extent of the inconsistency.
2. Our Services
Spark Security Solutions provides electrical, security and associated technical services.
Depending on the agreed scope, services may include:
- Electrical installation and upgrades
- Electrical inspection and testing
- Electrical fault finding and repairs
- Lighting and emergency lighting
- Electrical heating controls
- Data and network installation
- Smart home electrical infrastructure
- CCTV systems
- Intruder alarm systems
- Access control systems
- Intercom systems
- Fire alarm systems
- Other agreed electrical or security works
The exact work included in any project is determined by the quotation, estimate, written scope or other agreement between us and the customer.
3. Quotations and Estimates
A quotation or estimate is based on the information reasonably available to us at the time it is prepared.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, a quotation does not include additional work that could not reasonably have been identified before work commenced.
Quotations may be subject to:
- Site access
- Confirmation of the condition of existing installations
- Availability of materials and equipment
- Final technical assessment
- Any assumptions stated within the quotation
A quotation may specify its own validity period. If no validity period is stated, pricing may still need to be reviewed where material, equipment, labour or supplier costs change before acceptance.
4. Acceptance and Formation of Contract
A contract for services is formed when we accept your instruction to proceed with an agreed quotation, estimate or scope of work.
Acceptance may take place in writing, electronically or through another clear agreement between the parties.
For larger or specialist projects, we may require written confirmation, a deposit or both before materials are ordered or work is scheduled.
5. Customer Responsibilities
The customer is responsible for providing accurate information relevant to the requested work.
Unless otherwise agreed, the customer must provide:
- Reasonable and safe access to the property or work area
- Access to relevant electrical or security equipment
- Information about known faults, alterations or previous works where relevant
- Any permissions required from landlords, owners, managing agents or other responsible parties
- A safe working environment reasonably suitable for the agreed work
Delays or additional work resulting from incomplete, inaccurate or withheld information may result in additional charges where reasonably incurred.
6. Access to the Property
The customer must ensure that reasonable access is available at the agreed appointment time.
Where access cannot be obtained, or work cannot proceed because the property or relevant area is inaccessible, we may need to rearrange the appointment and may charge reasonable costs incurred as a result.
Where access is arranged through a landlord, tenant, property manager, agent or other third party, the person instructing us is responsible for ensuring that appropriate access arrangements and permissions are in place.
7. Existing Installations and Hidden Conditions
Electrical and security work can reveal defects or conditions that were not visible or reasonably identifiable before work commenced.
Examples may include:
- Damaged or deteriorated wiring
- Incorrect previous alterations
- Unsafe connections
- Hidden cables or services
- Inadequate existing circuits
- Incompatible equipment
- Structural or access limitations
Where additional work becomes necessary, we will normally explain the issue and, where practicable, obtain approval before carrying out work outside the agreed scope.
8. Variations and Additional Work
Any work requested by the customer that falls outside the original agreed scope may be treated as additional work and charged separately.
Where possible, the cost or basis of charging for a variation will be agreed before the additional work proceeds.
In circumstances involving an immediate safety issue, we may make an installation safe where reasonably necessary before discussing permanent remedial work.
9. Materials and Equipment
Materials and equipment will be selected according to the agreed specification, availability and suitability for the intended application.
Product images, model numbers or specifications may occasionally change because of manufacturer or supplier availability.
Where an exact specified product is unavailable, we will not knowingly substitute a materially different product without discussing an appropriate alternative where reasonably practicable.
10. Customer-Supplied Equipment
Where we agree to install equipment or materials supplied by the customer, we are not responsible for defects, missing components, manufacturer compatibility issues or failures inherent in the customer-supplied product.
We may decline to install customer-supplied equipment where we reasonably consider it unsuitable, unsafe, incompatible or inappropriate for the intended installation.
This does not affect responsibility for the quality of installation work actually carried out by us.
11. Electrical Testing and Inspection
Inspection and testing services assess the installation or equipment within the agreed scope and within the limitations applicable at the time of inspection.
Testing does not guarantee that hidden faults do not exist or that faults cannot develop after the inspection.
Where limitations prevent full inspection or testing, those limitations may be recorded in the relevant documentation.
12. Security Systems
CCTV, intruder alarms, access control, intercom and related security systems are designed to improve security and assist in the detection, monitoring or management of security events.
No security system can guarantee that theft, intrusion, damage, unauthorised access or other incidents will never occur.
System performance may depend on factors including equipment configuration, communications services, power availability, maintenance, user operation and third-party infrastructure.
13. Internet, Network and App-Connected Equipment
Some security, smart home and network systems rely on broadband, Wi-Fi, mobile networks, cloud services, manufacturer applications or other third-party services.
We cannot guarantee the continuous availability, performance or future operation of services controlled by third-party providers.
Changes made by manufacturers, internet providers, application providers or cloud-service operators may affect system functionality after installation.
14. Partner and Specialist Services
Certain specialist services may be coordinated by Spark Security Solutions and carried out by appropriately qualified independent engineers or specialist businesses we work with.
Where this applies, we will describe the arrangement appropriately in relation to the relevant service.
Gas work, where coordinated through Spark Security Solutions, is carried out by appropriately qualified Gas Safe registered engineers we work with.
We do not represent Spark Security Solutions Limited itself as Gas Safe registered unless expressly stated otherwise and supported by the relevant registration.
15. Appointments and Scheduling
Appointment dates and arrival times are arranged in good faith but may occasionally need to change because of circumstances such as previous jobs overrunning, traffic, emergencies, illness, supplier delays or other events outside our reasonable control.
Where an appointment needs to be changed, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you and arrange an alternative.
16. Cancellations
If you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, please provide as much notice as reasonably possible.
Where we have already incurred reasonable costs specifically for your project, such as specially ordered or non-returnable materials, those costs may remain payable where permitted by law and where you were appropriately informed.
Consumer cancellation rights, where applicable, are not excluded or restricted by these Terms.
17. Consumer Cancellation Rights
Consumers may have statutory cancellation rights where a contract is concluded at a distance or away from our business premises.
The existence and extent of those rights depends on the circumstances and the applicable consumer legislation.
Where a consumer expressly asks us to begin providing services during an applicable cancellation period, payment may be due for services properly supplied before cancellation, where permitted by law.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove or reduce statutory consumer rights.
18. Deposits and Advance Payments
Some projects may require a deposit or advance payment, particularly where materials or specialist equipment need to be ordered.
Any deposit requirement will normally be stated in the quotation or otherwise agreed before payment is requested.
Treatment of deposits following cancellation will depend on the circumstances, costs already reasonably incurred and any applicable consumer rights.
19. Invoices and Payment
Payment terms will be stated on the quotation, invoice or other agreed documentation.
Customers are responsible for paying valid invoices within the stated payment period.
If an invoice is disputed, please contact us promptly with details of the issue so that it can be reviewed.
For business customers, statutory rights relating to late commercial payments may apply where the relevant legal requirements are met.
20. Completion and Documentation
Where certificates, reports, test results, commissioning information or other documentation form part of the agreed service, they will be provided as appropriate following completion of the relevant work.
Documentation relates to the installation, inspection or work carried out within the stated scope and at the relevant time.
21. Defects and Concerns
If you believe there is a problem with work carried out by us, please contact us as soon as reasonably practicable and provide sufficient information for us to investigate.
Where appropriate, we may need reasonable access to inspect the installation before determining the cause of the issue and the appropriate remedy.
This does not affect any statutory rights available to consumers.
22. Manufacturer Warranties
Equipment supplied by us may benefit from a manufacturer’s warranty where provided by the manufacturer.
Manufacturer warranty conditions, exclusions and periods are determined by the relevant manufacturer.
Manufacturer warranties are separate from any legal rights you may have in relation to goods or services.
23. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
We are not responsible for losses caused solely by circumstances outside our reasonable control or by defects in existing installations, third-party equipment or customer-supplied products that were not caused by our work.
We are also not responsible for loss resulting from unauthorised alterations or interference with completed work by another person after completion.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or restrict rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
24. Business Customers
Where the customer is acting wholly or mainly for purposes relating to their trade, business, craft or profession, consumer-specific statutory rights may not apply.
Any additional commercial terms agreed in writing for a particular project or customer relationship will form part of the relevant contract.
25. Events Outside Our Reasonable Control
We will not be responsible for delay or failure to perform an obligation where caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Such circumstances may include severe weather, transport disruption, utility failure, supplier disruption, material shortages, telecommunications failure, government action or other comparable events.
We will take reasonable steps to minimise disruption where practicable.
26. Website Use
Information published on our website is provided for general information about our company and services.
Website content does not replace a property-specific inspection, technical assessment, quotation or professional advice where one is required.
You must not misuse the website, attempt unauthorised access, introduce malicious software or use website content unlawfully.
27. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, website text, branding, graphics, photographs and other original content are owned by or licensed to Spark Security Solutions Limited.

28. Privacy and Cookies
Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Information about cookies and similar technologies is available in our Cookie Policy.
Please see: Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy (UK).
29. Complaints
If you are dissatisfied with our service, please contact us and provide details of the issue so that we have a reasonable opportunity to investigate and respond.
Nothing in this section affects any statutory rights or other remedies available to you.
30. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our services, business processes or applicable law.
The version applicable to a particular agreed project will normally be the version in effect when the relevant contract is formed, unless otherwise agreed or required by law.
31. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the applicable laws of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms removes any rights you may have to bring proceedings in another part of the United Kingdom where applicable law permits.
For business customers, unless otherwise agreed in writing, the courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction in relation to disputes arising from these Terms or the relevant contract.
